Avet Terteryan and Poetic Language

This report presents an overview of Avet Terteryan’s creations in terms of his relationship with poetry and poetic language; the versification of his
poems and the meter-rhythmic peculiarities of his vocal creations (romances, opera, and vocal fragments of the symphonies) are particularly discussed in the article; the latter also reveals the semantic interdependence of rhythmical and tune-intonation elements in his works with corresponding elements in Armenian folk and sacred music.
