The Terterian-Festival in Erevan, Armenia, will be held later this year. The Terterian-Festival in Nishni-Novgorod will be held October 7 to 10, 1999.
I will travel to Armenia September 24, to visit Irina Tigranova and to meet musicians and friends of Avet Terterian and to learn more about this wonderful country and it's music. Later, we will go to Nishni Novgorod...

Especially to the 70th birthday, the "Deutsch-Armenische Korrespondenz", the quarterly magazine of the German-Armenian Society, published two new articles on Avet Terterian:

The Dresden Sinfoniker, conducted by Michael Helmrath, performed the 3rd Symphony in Dresden, July 16, 1999. Deutschland Radio broadcasted this great concert live. There will be a CD of this concert soon.
The program:
"Music from Tadjikistan, Aserbeidschan, Georgia and Armenia" with compositions by Gija Kantscheli, Benjamin Yusupov, Fikret Amirov and Avet Terterian. A real birthday present to Avet Terterian!
The audience was very excited about the music and the newspapers as well.

Into the 3rd Millenium with Avet Terterian |

There will be a great celebration in honor of Avet Terterian in Armenia / Erevan in september 1999:
"Into the 3rd Millenium with Avet Terterian"
There will be concerts,
a presentation of the visual theatre by Olga Pautowa with the music of the 5th symphony,
a concert by Heinz-Erich Gödecke,
Avet Terterian's house will be inaugurated as the place for a "creative school" at the Sewan Lake and children paintings, created to the music of Avet Terterian, will be exhibited.
A great program. Not everything is financed yet. The organizers need financial support. As soon as I have more detailed information, we will publish the necessary informations. |
